Testimonials

Audrey / Calle Denia
From Jun-24, 2010 Until Jun-26, 2010
I really liked the flat in Calle Denia because it felt so cosy and I would certainly use it again. A couple of things in the bathroom need to be fixed but easy to forget when we stand on the balcony and can admire Valencia up to its port

Rebecca / Turisgayvalencia
From May-26, 2010 Until May-28, 2010
The apartment was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed, loved the decor and finishing touches! Our host Max was lovely, he made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of advice on what to see and do while we were in Valencia. The location was really convenient too, close to shops, nightlife, the historical centre (and excellent transport links to everything else). It was just perfect. Thank you!

Valencia tourism

In the heart of Valencia, Spain you find culture, history and the holy grail

Valencia, Spain is the third largest city in the country, but it is often overlooked by tourists.  The outskirts of the city are rather boring with just a collection of  industrialized areas, but when you venture into the heart of the city you will find some amazing attractions and many historical treasures that make this city a wonderful place to visit on your next trip to Spain.

A Glimpse of Valencia

Since Valencia is often overlooked by the mass of tourists that visit Spain every year, it is very much untouched.  It is still very Spanish in nature and really gives you authentic look at the country, its history and culture.  It is located on the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula.

Celebrations and the Holy Grail

If you visit Valencia there are two things you must do.  First, you need to experience one of the amazing celebrations and festivals that are held in the city throughout the year.  Many of these are wild celebrations with amazing paper mache floats and fireworks.  The second thing you need to do is see the Holy Grail.

The Valencia Cathedral is a 13th century cathedral that in itself is an interesting Valencia attraction, but in side this cathedral is the Santo Caliz, which is said to be the Holy Grail.  This piece is the prized possession of the cathedral and is part of the many other historical and religious pieces inside the cathedral's museum.  The Santo Caliz is a medieval piece with a base and stem and a 6 ½ inch high cup and is decorated in jewels and made of both gold and alabaster.  It truly is a remarkable piece that is a must see if you visit Valencia.

Other Things to See and Do in Valencia

Throughout the heart of town you will get to see various gothic architecture by Santiago Calatrava.  Valencia is also where you can walk along the old Turia River and a state of the art Arts and Science Centre.  The arts centre is one of the most futuristic and awe inspiring structures you will see in all of Spain.  It really does look like something sent straight from the future and is home to a variety of arts and sciences exhibits and activities.

Planning your Trip

Valencia has an international airport located just outside of the city.  You can expect to find beautiful weather year round courtesy of the great Mediterranean sun.  It is always a great time of year to visit.  When making your vacation plans you should consider booking your accommodations online.  Using the internet is one of the fastest ways to book your vacation and it is also the best way to get top deals that will save you money.

Valencia, Spain may not be the first place you think of when you consider visiting Spain, but it is a perfect choice. You can explore the history, the fun and the beauty of Spain without the crowds of tourists.  Your trip to Valencia will be one to remember with the friendly people and the lovely attractions.
